Leveraging the popularity of Garfield the Cat to support K-5 teachers and students in their digital literacy efforts

Professor Garfield

How might we build an age-appropriate, standards-based, cross-curricular digital literacy curriculum that is fun and accessible to educators?

The new Professor Garfield website, written and designed by a team of EMDD students, offers interactive video lessons on digital literacy starring Garfield the Cat himself. This website gives teachers free access to learning tools and games for teaching digital literacy in their own classrooms. The project and its findings were presented at the 2016 International Society for Technology and Education conference and the 2018 World Conference on E-Learning.

The new Professor Garfield website provides free lesson plans and videos for teachers to implement our digital literacy curriculum in their classrooms.
