How might we use transmedia storytelling to promote an original documentary on the rise of boys’ and men’s volleyball in the United States? 

Match Point: the Rise of Men’s Volleyball is a transmedia documentary experience that includes an interactive social media campaign and a student-designed app that allows players to pick their winning teams for the NCAA Men’s Volleyball season. The transmedia campaign also includes a podcast and multimedia website. The documentary and transmedia campaign were entered in the Regional Emmy Awards competition, and both were honored with two awards in the Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts.

First Point Volleyball Foundation is creating opportunities for young men to develop as players and people by advancing and supporting boys’ and men’s volleyball across the nation. Founded in 2016 by USA Men’s National Team Head Coach John Speraw First Point Volleyball Foundation strives to help new boys’ and men’s programs take initial steps toward creation and development.
