Harnessing the power of transmedia storytelling to engage a
global audience in a dialogue about the future of water

The Blue Roots Project

How might we inform young adults about the freshwater resource crisis?

In February 2017, the Blue Roots Project launched the #MyWaterStory challenge, which gathered more than 800 stories from users around the world about their relationships with water. The campaign was designed to foster a global conversation about the value of water around the world leading up to and during the Watershed conference in Rome, Italy. The Blue Roots team traveled to the Vatican in March of 2017 to help Pope Francis initiate a global conversation about water at World Water Day and lead a workshop with global experts at the Watershed conference.

The Blue Roots Project team spent a week in Rome in March 2017 working behind the scenes at the Vatican to assist with World Water Day activities. Pictured are Aisté Manfredini, Dr. Jennifer Palilonis, Briee Eikenberry, Sarah Janssen, and Jessica Pettengill.
